An excellent presentation from the Red Sparks Union in Vancouver/ Coast Salish territories discussing the development of the Philippine revolution. This is a valuable multimedia source I would encourage those interested to make use of.

Rooted in 400 years of struggle against colonization and foreign domination, the Philippine revolution today constitutes an outstanding example of oppressed and exploited people struggling for liberation. In the countryside, the revolutionary movement, led by the Communist Party of the Philippines and the New People’s Army organizes the people to dismantle the exploitative feudal and capitalist social relations and replace them with new social, economic and political institutions and practices based on solidarity, equality and dignity.
This Red Sparks Union multi-media presentation and study will look at the history of Philippine resistance to colonization and foreign domination, the re-foundation of the Communist Party of the Philippines and the launching of the New People’s Army (the longest running armed struggle in Asia), the Second Great Rectification to correct errors in the revolutionary movement following the ouster of dictator Ferdinand Marcos, and the role of Canadian imperialism in the Philippines.
